Well, the sad news is that today is the final day in Washington, D.C. for Mr. Sammons and me. The GOOD news is that I will soon get to be back with my buddy, Eli and his classmates! I can't wait to share my stories with you all!
On our final day, we began at the home of the first President of our country. Do you know who that is? If you said George Washington, you were right! His home and all the buildings and land with it, is known as Mount Vernon.

We next took tour of the Capitol building. The Capitol is where one piece of our government, called Congress, makes laws for our country.
Our next stop was the National Botanical Gardens. It was peaceful and full of beautiful plants! I especially enjoyed the orchids.
Our final stop was the National Museum of African Art. There was some art from Africa that was over 2,000 years old!
Well, finally it was time to say good bye to Washington, D.C. and head back to IOWA! I'm so glad Eli let me go with his uncle, Mr. Sammons. Did you know he calls him Uncle Brian? I can't wait to see Eli, because he's a good friend to me. See you all soon!
